How borrowing works

1. Join and reserve

Browse the Things online and make a reservation to borrow.

2. Collect in-store

Collect your item from the lockers inside Barking Learning Centre. Use our guides and support if you need a hand at home.

3. Return it

Return your item back to the store, ready for another neighbour to use.

You can reserve all items online before collecting and returning from the library.

How to reach us

Car Parking

Parking is available nearby, you can find bays at Axe Street Service Road and on Bobby Moore Way - both are free for 30 minutes using the Paybyphone app. Lidl and Asda have free car parking for customers (maximum stay one hour).

Trains
The Barking Learning Centre is a 5 minute walk from Barking Underground Station (District and Hammersmith and City lines).
Bus
Buses 5, 62, 169, 238, 287, 368, 387, EL1, EL2 all stop near Barking centre.

Wednesday: 9am to 7pm

Thursday: 9am to 5pm

Friday: 9am to 5pm

Saturday: 9am to 5pm

Sunday: 10am to 4pm

We've joined forces with Barking & Dagenham Council to bring borrowing to the area so everyone can access the items they need to maintain their homes affordably.
