Why buy when you can borrow?

Morden Library of Things is a place where you can affordably rent useful household items you don't use often for DIY, cleaning, gardening events and more.

How borrowing works

1. Join & reserve

Browse the Things online and make a reservation to borrow.

2. Borrow and return it

Collect your Thing. Use it. Then return it when you're done.

3. Track your impact

See how much waste you've saved from landfill by borrowing instead of buying.

How to find us

You’ll find our borrowing kiosk on the ground floor of Morden Library with step free access, inside Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, SM4 5DX.
Trains and underground
The library is right in front of Morden Underground station (Northern Line), 10 minutes away from South Merton.
Car Parking
There’s a one hour parking bay behind the library, on the A24 triangle or 30 minute parking bays on Crown Lane next to the library.

The story so far

Library of Things is a social enterprise that helps people save money and reduce waste. We started as a grassroots community movement in South London.
Now local residents, Merton Council and Sustainable Merton have partnered to bring Library of Things to Morden!

Three reasons why borrowing's better than buying

1. It's more convenient

It’s more affordable. Cuts down on clutter. And we’re just down the road. (Beats next day delivery right?!)

2. It's more rewarding

Meet your neighbours, get involved in your community, or even learn a new skill that could change your outlook
on life.

3. It's kinder to the planet

Sharing the Things you won't use often is a simple action all of us can take to live more sustainably.
